The flow of PPOs will gain steam in September-October and will continue to come in till the final placements begin in December.According to campus placement cells, IT/software, core engineering, finance, analytics and technology sectors are the most bullish ones on PPOs. Despite concerns around overall IT hiring slowing down, placement sources said campus recruitment still remained a preferred choice for companies because of the cost factor, and also because fresh graduates could be trained in in-demand skills facing a supply crunch.IITs have also traditionally been more insulated from the vagaries of the job market compared with smaller institutes."The PPO numbers look promising," said Sathyan Subbiah, adviser (placements), IIT-Madras, which has seen a 33% jump in PPOs to 213 till Monday, compared with 160 a year earlier. Future Retail’s interim resolution professional has admitted Rs 17,511 crore claims from 28 financial creditors, including overseas bondholders, banks and domestic bondholders, according to a disclosure on the company website on Monday. Future Retail was admitted by the bankruptcy court for insolvency proceedings on July 20 following a petition by the Bank of India.The IRP, Vijay Kumar Iyer backed by Deloitte India, received Rs 21,058 crore claims from financial creditors; however, all claims were not admitted as some are still under verification.The highest admitted claim among financial creditors is from offshore bondholders of Rs 4109 crore, constituting 23.4% of voting rights. Bank of New York Mellon, the trustee of the offshore bondholders, has filed the claim at their behest. Among others, Bank of Baroda’s verified claim is Rs 2143 crore, equating to 12.2% of voting rights, and Union Bank of India is Rs 1894 crore, equating to 10.8% of voting rights.The IRP has not yet admitted Rs 1266 crore claims filed by Axis Trustee Services Ltd, Rs 564 crore claim of UCO Bank and Rs 220 crore claim made by IDFC.
